The Challenge
A multi-published author and teacher has a self-built Wix site, and she found that it does not seem as engaging as she expected. Not just that, the site failed to convert enough visitors into clients for her writing, editing, and publishing services. The homepage was a mess, the booking system was cluttered, and no legal pages were available. Moreover, it lacked a clear SEO strategy to rank for her diverse offerings, such as book editing, academic writing, resume and cover letter writing, etc.
The Solution: A 5-Phase Master Plan
At the beginning, I conducted a deep site audit in 4 days, identified conversion leaks, prepared an optimization plan incorporating technical critique, and the necessary steps that needed to be taken. The master plan included five intensive phases, of which I implemented the first four. She said the rest of the phases (phase 5) she could handle by herself:
Phase 1: Structure & Brand Refresh. Did keyword research, mapped the user journey, and restructured the testimonials. Applied modern typography, consistent color hierarchy, professional author-brand aesthetic on the home page, and other essential pages of the site. Updated the navigation from a “Generalist” to an “Expert” menu, mobile-first optimization, and FAQs preparation.
Phase 2: Page Development, Copy & Content Refreshment. Revamped the homepage copy and built dedicated, SEO-optimized landing pages for each service. Booking system restructuring, streamlining, and adding legal pages (Our Privacy & Policy, Terms & Conditions, Refund Policy).
Phase 3: SEO Application & Technical Validation Across the Full Site. On Page SEO (Applied high-impact long-tail keywords), Technical SEO (URL Structure Fixing, Published Books’ Metadata Optimization, More), Local SEO (Google Business Profile), Google Indexing (Ensured all pages were correctly indexed for organic visibility), and Off-page SEO (Author platform profiles).
Phase 4: Website Page Speed Optimization, Security & Lead Generation. Integrated fraud management protocols and optimized page speed. Written and designed a high-converting lead magnet with a 3-email automated nurture sequence.
Phase 5: Growth Maintenance (POST-ReLAUNCH SUPPORT). Bug fixes, Performance monitoring, Minor adjustments, SEO fine-tuning, SEO Blogging (EEAT & AI-Friendly Pillar Posts and Cluster Posts Creation, Internal linking).
The Result
The author now possesses a streamlined “Client Acquisition System” that positions her as a leading authority in education and publishing.
